Prostitution is a well-known universal social phenomenon, yet it is not evenly integrated into society as conservative stigma classify this sector as deviant.
This causes sex work to exist further in the margins of contemporary societies. Latin American transgender migrants selling sex furthermore live with a threefold stigma: they work in prostitution, they are of foreign origin, and they are transgendered.
As an anthropologist, this asked for a broader understanding about the motives and effects of this activity in the sex industry as a Latin American transgender migrant. This consideration has led to this narrative study as a result. Antwerp was thereby chosen as the principal location for this fieldwork as this group is largely present in this Belgian city.
