Is this an OK time to go? If you want to get a great poolside sun bed, rent an apartment. Not much room around the pools at the RIU hotels. On Sal there is very little rain, it is a desert island.
August September can be very humid but less wind. More wind sort of October through Feb. Don't be put of by the wind, we find the best time to go is Feb, but that us our personal preference for cooler evenings and avoidance of UK weather. Is it really windy in those months?
I have done a bit of research but still have a few questions. Sal seems the best option but can anyone tell me how long the journey is from the UK? Also, I hate All inclusive but to get flight only and then find money for accommodation separately would be waaaay too expensive, I think. Seems like not many options if it's only Thomsons doing direct flights but I dont want all inclusive as I want a real, authentic experience.
I have been many times to The Gambia but just stayed in small guest houses or hotels but the sex tourism is too in your face there so Cape Verde looked much nicer on that issue. Thanks for any help. I am going to Sal next Saturday from the UK, I too hate the all inclusive and I have organised flights and accommodation separately. All in all a lot better deal than being stuck in a resort that may as well be in Turkey. Try using Skyscanner.
If you need any help let me know. Hi Mark - thanx for the advice. I guess you are back now - how did the trip go? Was there mch to do? I have now booked for the end of May for 14 nights. Thinking of going to Sal next August with out 14 year old daughter Was thinking of the riu funan. Thanks from a i dont like windy days kim.
