Joined Apr 29, The thing that intrest me so much is that I have heard people say they ran an intake cam and the stock zetec exhaust cam, with a tune and cam gears. So if its worked in the past with aftermarket cams, then why not with the escort cam?

Joined Oct 5, The ZX2 Exh cam will not work in the Focus head and neither of the SVT cams will work in the Focus head To add the ZX2 cam to the Focus you need to find a mechanical ZX2 cam they made both mechanical and hydrolic then you need to get 1 adj cam gear , install the cam and adj gears and then dyno to get the gear set all for about 3 to 6HP , why not install a set of Comp stg 2 cams and do it right The adj gears are still needed , dyno is still needed and the cams will cost more but in the end it will be a mod worth doing vs the zx2 Intake cam alone Tom.
Here is the fitment info about the adjustable cam gears from zxtuner. Don't forget you'll need the VCT adapter too ANY adj cam gear needs to be adjusted on the dyno Tom. Tuning in cam gears is mechanical. Nothing you can do through a tuner. Damn, see all the things I haven't learned having a SPI all this time [facepalm] Can't wait to get my Zetec in and start making decent power.

It is a MUST to have adj. I gained TQ everywhere in the powerband. You can see my dyno in the zetec dyno sticky thread. I'll be getting a new one soon unless I can come across some cams. Though I am interested in what I'm putting down now since I have more mods and finally a tune. This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread.
