A young executive broke down in tears yesterday as she compared her millionaire boss to a lovestruck teenager who treated women like 'designer handbags or dresses'. Jordan Wimmer, 29, alleges that Mark Lowe, 59, brought escorts to business functions, made her watch two lap dances, and discussed his sexual preference for Asian women. Sexual discrimination case: Jordan Wimmer claims her former boss Mark Lowe forced her out of hedge fund Nomos Capital.
She alleges that one of Mr Lowe's girlfriends wore tight Dior hotpants and stilettos to a serious business event. He accepts he currently has three lovers around the world as well as an estranged wife in London. But as 'a wealthy and powerful' man he claims the women are attracted to him because 'it's the way of the world'. Miss Wimmer, who said she was 'speaking slowly' because she was on drugs for depression and anxiety, was yesterday questioned at the Central London Employment Tribunal about her claims that her boss brought prostitutes to business meetings.
Elizabeth Melville, representing Mr Lowe, said to Miss Wimmer that any women he brought along were 'his girlfriends'. She said that one of the women Miss Wimmer was referring to was also highly qualified, and had worked for two investment banks, and is now studying at Lausanne University for an MBA. Miss Wimmer maintained that the Russian woman had been an escort, but said: 'You can turn your life around, I guess.
She said: 'I couldn't believe he was acting like a teenager in love, telling me wholly inappropriate things Like how he loved Ling, and whether Ling loved him. I do think it's inappropriate when your boss is talking about teenage love and lust stories about his girlfriend. Miss Melville said that Ling was actually Malaysian and a long-term girlfriend, as Mr Lowe had been seeing her since April , a year before Miss Wimmer joined the company.
Miss Melville asked why Miss Wimmer objected to Ling, who was qualified in finance and worked for a bank, attending a business meeting at the Hong Kong Yacht Club. Miss Wimmer said: 'It's just completely inappropriate and so demeaning for me to have to stand there in a pinstripe suit next to someone in Dior hotpants that don't cover her buttocks, standing there in stilettoes with her breasts pushed out.
