I am planning a hen weekend for a group of girls and we want somewhere classy but affordable. Jurmala seems to have fantastic spa hotels and is on the beach. Is it a safe place to go as a group of girls? Do all the stag parties ruin it? Do the Latvian men hassle girls or not too badly? Is there still a big prostitution problem there?
The place looks too good and affordable to be true so I'm just wanting to check out potential problems. There are no stags in Jurmala - at least I haven't seen any. Well, not any loud ones as in Riga. Jurmala is safe and small and SPAs are good. There are some service problems no so smiling therapist or alike , but othing dramatic. I would go for it. Although keep in mind that in July and beginning of August it is very very very busy, because of song festival New Wave and other events in Dzintari concert hall.
There are crowds of people at that time even at nights:- So, book early! Jurmala is much safer than other popular beaches around world like Egypt or Turkey. Nobody will disturb you if you don't want that and there is no active salers as on other beaches around world.
I have not seen any prostitute in Jurmala ever, but it depends on what are you looking for! Remember - Jurmala is going to be luxury resort, but prices are quite low after crisis.
Only problem i can see here - that all the good hotels and SPAs can be full in the season, so book it early and beaches are open to everyone - so if it is the season - then there will be many local and tourist people on the beach. This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity.
