This night I wanted to give an updated review of this market. I went on a Monday night, and though it was well A good night market with lots of good food and stalls. However it was more on the seedy side - one side street was prostitute and pimp lined and very dodgy. Food on the Main Street is good and we ate well. Very busy market. One part of it sells raw fish which was good to see but with lots of cars and mopeds pushing their way through. Watch your backs if you go there.
A good place to go though. This night market is a total contrast to the more glamourous Liuhe and Ruifeng as it is more of a traditional night market than serving the locals than catering to tourists. This night market has stalls stretching both sides of the road. Our hotel staff reminded us to go for the signature rice dumplings, which we did, and it was really good. Another unique feature of this place is that it is not for pedestrians. Customers would come by in their vehicles, make an order, pick up their food, and then zoom off.
Unless you are having your meal at any of the restaurants, it's really difficult to find a place to stand and eat.
