This review is not so much the beach, which I would give a reluctant 2 out of 10, but of Hua Hin itself. I was very dissapointed to find how sleazy this place is. But my main criticism is, even as a red blooded adult male, the overwhelming percentage of bars all over town which are over run with prostitutes.
We found an Irish Bar. This town is most definitly NOT a family friendly destination.! If you are thinking of stying in this area -go to Cha Am, just a few kilometers north. The beach was quite pleasant for taking day or evening walks, a but dark in the evening though.
There was kite surfing and courses to take, which was nice. In general, the beach was nice and the water warm and delightful The beach in the center of Hua hin is small but if you go to kao thakiab monkey island you wil have a amazing clean and big beach and no rocks in the water.
Relax on the beach with many sunbeds and amazing fresh seafood!!!! Go there! Nice clean sea, great watching the kite surfers but beach narrow - difficult to sit and sunbathe. The beach is fairly narrow and appears to have been encroached upon by the hotels meaning there is little space when the tide is in. Horse rides are available on the beach and appeared popular, the handlers looked like they cleaned up after them also, and there were a number of people happy to sort you out with food and drink if you wanted it as well as pedicures being offered whilst you sunbathed.
