My OH has just had a job offer that would take us to SriRacha for 2 years. We are still waiting for package details but I just wondered if anyone had any knowledge of the area? We have 3 young children, so my main concerns are healthcare and schooling in the area. We're currently living in the middle east.

Sriracha is close to pattaya, but without the sex tourists. It's fairly large, if you take the slow bus to Pattaya from Bangkok you will pass right through it. It's part of Chonburi. Pleasant seaside town, about an hour from Bangkok, famous for a hot chile sauce that's made there.
I've been on the seafront there at Laem Tan, which is very pretty. There's an industrial area and big harbour, luxury condos, golf. But I can't tell you anything about schools or healthcare, I'm afraid. As in 2, you should ask this on ThaiVisa which has more expats, and maybe even someone living there.
Just been to Sri Racha Yesterday night, fairly sized town at the beach. Nice night market. Had a good night out there. Think Sri Racha is a good location. Like sjaak says Close to pattaya without the sex tourists. Did not see any tourists :. We currently, live just a few miles north of Sri Racha, also spelt Si Racha or Siracha or Sriracha and have done so for a few years now.
Sri Racha is a pleasant enough town but not the most exciting - but then if you are living somewhere you want unexciting rather than exciting as exciting tends to be much more dangerous. Certainly, Sri Racha is a pretty safe town on the whole, a bit of petty burglary and that sort of thing but little serious crime and nothing at all like Pattaya, the big city a further 40 kms or so further on, which is the big tourist destination. Although many foreigners live in Pattaya we would never even dream of living there, it is just so dangerous and apparently is nowadays run by the Russian Mafia.
