Apologies for my lack of knowledge of the area. I have been to Caracas for business back from 98' - 01' but have not been there for a long time so my knowledge is well dated and today's Venezuela is foreign to me. I am looking to get 1st hand information from someone with current knowledge of either Margarita or Caracas.
I have the following questions:. Is Canada flying their regular charters to Margarita? Do you know of any I can look up that have a good reputation? Can someone still buy a house in Venezuela? Are there two currencies being used? I know they renamed it last year. If something says a place costs "Bsf 3. I know it changes daily, but let's say today. The currency is in constant flux: adding and subtracting zeros as hyperinflation plagues the country.
Some of the "gangs" in the "slums" are printing their own money as the national currency is often worthless. If you're thinking retirement in the near future then no, it's not a good place to retire.

They left due to issues with general safety and her husband is Venezuelan. She said that certainly at that time , might be you a shack or a tiny plot of land but it might be changing. If you want to buy property in Venezuela I'd say there are many people who'd love to offload their property and convert it into dollars!
