We stayed here a night in between osoam and battambang, since we were tired out from a day of bumpy dirt roads. In hindsight its better to go straight to battambang. The prices listed in reviews are old - it was 8 for a fan room , but they wanted to charge us 15 for a super mediocre aircon room!
As if, there is nothing to do in the area, bathrooms are dirty etc. The hotel had a super bad atmosphere too. Straight away the staff tried making us hire them for tours or to sell us tickets.
They were unfriendly and super pushy - every single time we left the room they harassed us, pointing us to the hotel restaurant not even letting us explore town. Its hard to tell who is a staff member as there's just dozens of men lurking in the general area.
We wanted to buy a bottle of water and both fridges were locked and no one knew where the key was. They also never asked for our passports or info when we checked in or out, think that might be illegal as every other place we have stayed at has? Not a single word spoken to us as we checked out, probably for the best or they'd try selling us another stupid thing. I stayed here for 1 night as I was on a cycling trip and needed a place to stay for the night.
The room was clean and tidy. The staff and management were helpful and friendly. They were happy for me to take my bike to my room. Yes the road is noisy but I always carry earplugs. I enjoyed strolling round the town at night. It is reminiscent of Cambodia before tourism took off. There's very little Street lighting but as is always the case with towns in cambodia untouched by tourism; the locals are very friendly.
