I have to laugh when reading several reviews about this hotel and ethics. A reviewer mentioned lack of ethics and I would like to comment about this. In my three stays I have used the Elm Spa massage place for outcall service.
Face it, in China this service is found in every hotel and just because this is an American hotel chain and part of Marriott does not make it exempt from the Chinese practice of providing sexual services to the guests that request these services. In my case I am a single man who indeed gets lonely on my travels.
Rather than cruise the streets looking for prostitutes it is much easier to simply go to the in-house spa and request this service. To begin with it is safer as the spa is located in the hotel so if there is a problem the hotel should back the guest. The procedure was very simple also. Go to the Elm Spa on the third floor, speak to the receptionist named Crystal she was very friendly and her English was good , tell her that I wanted a massage with extra service, and she told me the prices of what the girl would do.

What's wrong with this? I want a service and the Renaissance Hotel keeps girls on staff that perform this service and everyone is happy. As far as the hotel goes it is a worthy place to stay but does lack some basic features that I think a 4 or 5 star hotel should have. The have pretty poor recreation facilities. No pool or bowling alley, a small gym. The restaurants are just average and the food prices high but there are cheaper sources of food close by and some fast food restaurants.
