This paper is based on my doctoral research exploring the narratives of Polish migrant women about encounters with difference in Manchester and Barcelona.
The fieldwork for this research was carried out in these two cities between June and March The ethnography was initiated by participant observation with several associations in both cities, followed by narrative interviews and focus groups with Polish migrant women in each city.
