Something very bad happened to me two days ago and one friend told me I was over-reacting after 24 hours. If I am over-reacting I would need some comfort, not just to be told that I am over-reacting. Another person whose husband might have known what I needed to know said he was watching the news. Using my own resources I found what to do and my sister helped me too. But I am left feeling bad about what people said when I was so upset.
My writing is aimed at people whose work requires them to communicate with others about risk. My goal is to help them do it better. Telling people so β validating their adjustment reaction β helps them calm down and cope.
