Worst ever choice. I stayed at Histria Hotel as a group of 7 couple of weeks ago for Sunwaves festival. I booked it ages ago through booking. At the start of the year booking. I like a challenge so I persevered, somehow managing to book an extra night festival dates changed and confirm our stay with the owner George.
We pulled up outside the hotel after a 4 hour transfer from Otapeni airport and it was like our worst nightmares had come true. I say we, it was me that booked it so this was all on my shoulders. The minibus pulled away and I for one had never felt so alone. It looked like the building of the hotel had barely started let alone finished.
My stomach was doing somersaults. It was at that moment that I knew I had screwed up. This was our home for the next 4 nights. He took us up to our room a couple of levels up and this was where the tables turned.
This was just in case the owner of the hotel kicked up a fuss about 7 of us piling into a room of 6. We listened to George make a speech about life, woman and our room for a few minutes. It was the Master Suite and was obviously his pride and joy. Our connecting room of 2 was a bit of a dump so other guests staying at the hotel were in for a treat.
We were then left to get the party started. We walked around the room and found the Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The boys fiddled about with the lights on the Jacuzzi and chatted excitedly amongst themselves about what flavour bubblebath we were going to get for it. We woke up after a little snooze and sunbathed on the balcony for a bit, taking in the beautiful surroundings of broken chairs and dirty pants. In between sips of rum and coke, we had all noticed the comings and goings on the level above.
