From the first meeting with Phillip, we felt welcomed and accepted. His kind and humorous introduction to the Marigny neighbourhood and suggestions of local eateries, clubs and general orientation was both engaging and helpful. Our rooms were charming and comfortable as were the porches, courtyard, hot tub, parlour and pretty much everything about the house. We were there for the Vieux Carre parade prior to Mardi Gras and had an absolute blast watching from the comfort of our perch on the magnificent front porch.
Just exactly perfect. Most were in Marigny and all were great times. I have to say, though, that Royal Street Courtyard was at least a step above the rest. Had I known how comfortable we found RSCY, we would have been delighted to make it our home for our whole stay. Thank you Phillip and Dave for a real great time. We will see you again. This was our second time visiting Royal Street and is our favorite place to stay in New Orleans. You are walking distance from frenchman street and nestled in a great, quiet neighborhood.
Philip is a great host and goes the extra mile to help you get around the city. Perfect place to retreat to after long days and evenings of exploring the city. Phillip greeted us as we arrived, gave us a map and marked all of the best places to eat while we were there and informed us of all the best things to see and do. This combined with his warm and friendly personality were very much appreciated after our 6 hour drive. Our room was very clean, we had a room with a bathroom down the hall, but was very private and very quiet.
Our bed was sooo comfortable! We met David the day we left and were very pleased with our hosts. We could not have asked for more. Will be returning! New Orleans is such an interesting city to visit and made even better by staying at the Royal Street Courtyard. We were welcomed at the door by Philip who gave us maps, restaurant recommendations etc. He certainly knows New Orleans well. We had room 6 on the ground floor as there was my husband and me and our teenage son.
The room is huge with a kitchen and very comfortable beds. As previous reviewers write how lovely the place is, how clean, good breakfast etc, and I do agree, but I have to specifically mention Philip and David. They offer southern hospitality at its best and make sure that their guests have the best visit to New Orleans possible. We certainly did and I thank them both so much.
